You now can apply and enroll in health coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace. Health coverage starts as early as Jan. 1, 2014, and open enrollment ends on March 31, 2014.
Who is eligible?
The national program is open to U.S. citizens, nationals or persons lawfully present in the United States, who are between the ages of 0–64 and do not have affordable health insurance through an employer.
What is covered?
Every health plan in the marketplace will offer the same set of essential health benefits. This includes preventive care, medicines and doctor visits.
MDwise plans in Indiana
MDwise will offer three categories of Marketplace insurance, called metal levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold. These categories are not based on quality of care, but price alone. The categories vary by premium price (how much you pay per month for health insurance), and other things like how much hospital visits and medications will cost.
